| Welcome to Treetops in
Harborside~ Treetops is an historic
oceanfront cottage where comfort and luxury blend seamlessly with the
rustic feel of the by-gone era of rustic summer resorts on the Maine
coast. Located in the sleepy hamlet of Harborside, Treetops is
situated high on a ledge overlooking Penobscot Bay and the expansive,
unspoiled rocky coast of Maine. With its modern amenities and
historic
feel, Treetops offers all you'd ever need for a relaxing holiday by the sea. Treetops Cottage has four lovely bedrooms, two baths, a gourmet kitchen, a formal dining room, and a very comfortable living room. The refinished hardwood floors have heirloom area rugs, and we have vintage cottage dressers in every room. The front porch, with its 1930s glider sofa and wicker chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy gorgeous sunsets and moonlit nights. Two decks allow you to sit outside and enjoy sun all day long. We have private (but in some places steep) woodland trails that lead directly to the ocean where - if you dare - you can have a cool dip in the ocean. Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park is less than a half-mile away with a network of hiking trails, picnic areas, and dock. The Good Life Center and Four Season Organic Farm are just down the road, and Buck's Harbor Market, with its excellent selection of wines, cheeses, fresh food, and basic staples, is about ten minutes' drive. Also nearby is Woodenboat School, Blue Hill's Kneisel Hall (Chamber Music), Stonington Opera House and many restaurants, shops, libraries, and galleries located in Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Stonington. Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island is about one hour's drive, and there are day trips on the mailboat to Acadia's Isle au Haut, just off the Stonington dock. Policy information: Treetops is our home. We ask that visitors respect our belongings as they would their own, and we only ask that you leave Treetops Cottage as you found it. We will wash the sheets and towels after you depart. If the cottage is left as it was when you arrived and no deductions must be taken for loss or damage, we will return your security deposit a week after your departure.
